The most competitive category we track. Tackle retailers run more promotions than everyone else combined, which is exactly why it needs a filter.

Fishing tackle is where Australian online retail is at its sharpest. Dinga, MOTackle, Tackle World, Compleat Angler and BCF all email several times a week, and the same Shimano or Daiwa reel can differ by $50 between two retailers on the same day. Our ranker only surfaces a tackle deal when it beats every other tracked price for that model by a meaningful margin.
Combos are frequently cheaper than the reel alone. Retailers use rod-and-reel combos to clear rod stock, so if you're buying a mid-range reel, check the combo price before you check the reel price.
Beware the perpetual sale. Some brands are 'on sale' every single week at the same price. Our price history strips those out: if a product hasn't sold at its 'was' price in the last twelve months, that isn't the reference we use.
